Here’s more information on the

MILLERSBURG WILDLIFE FENCE

The very first panel getting sanded

THE BACKGROUND

As a child I asked my parents if I could paint frogs jumping and catching flies on our family’s back yard fence. That dream never came to fruition as a child, but now that I am an adult with my own back yard fence, my childhood dreams are becoming reality! I’m sure waiting a good 30+ years produced a much more matured art style then what my frogs would have been as a child but the heart behind the desire remains the same…simply an artist wanting to make something ordinary a lot more fun to pass by. I truly hope these friends on the fence will bring a smile to the faces of everyone who comes by.

THE PROCESS

Each animal has been hand-drawn on the wood with pencil and then painted with wood stain using q-tips and cloths just like all of my artwork here at Angie Thieszen Wood Stain Art.

Having just finished “Jamal Nutter”

THE ANIMALS

Each art piece on the fence depicts a wild animal native to the Millersburg, Indiana area. I chose to paint these friends on the fence to create an educational aspect for the elementary children passing by every day on their way to and from school.

Another side to go!

WHAT’S COMING NEXT?

As of now (Fall 2022), I still have one more side of the fence to complete. The video below will be the most updated video of the process. The photos are still shots of each animal with the names our family have affectionately given them as they were created.
